In this special holiday edition of Aurora, we’ve bundled up a lot of small changes and pushed them out in one bunch. We’ll have another update out in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more changes!

- Added two new homepage styles, focusing more on single row layout

- Slideshow
- Fixed a bug in the slideshows that caused the slideshow captions to fade out in IE8.
- Mobile Menu
- The mobile menu button is now vertically centered in the titlebar.
- Search Widget
- Updated with better styles for desktop and tablet views
- Hours Widget
- Updated with better styles for desktop and tablet views
- Contact Widget
- Updated with better styles for desktop and tablet views
- IE Fonts
- IE9 and below no longer use Proxima Nova for anything but the site title, and instead get Arial. This should improve legibility for users with those browsers.
- IE Compatibility Mode
- Aurora sites will no longer trigger the “compatibility mode” button in IE8 and IE9.

- University User Profiles, a new plugin, is now available for use.
- Create pages that display photos, names, and basic information of faculty, staff, or others.
- Create profile pages for people with more detailed information.
- Site Administrators can edit profile information, but each person listed can always update their own information as well.
- Users can be tagged to create pages that list only certain people.
- Flexible code for developers interested in creating themes.
- New styles added to the Hale theme to support the User Profiles.
- Improvements to the User Activation process, new users will be notified to use their NetID password to log in (activation email and confirmation page).
